Read it before you message me. Every figure is a starting price. Six are labour only, with materials on top. The three biggest jobs are priced per job, and the written price says what it covers.

Bathrooms, full kitchens and exterior painting are priced per job — the written figure covers the work as agreed. Emergency jobs taken. Every job carries a 6-month guarantee on my work. Gas work, and electrical work that needs a certificate, are not mine — I say so in the first message rather than halfway through.

How I work, and how you check me before you commit
One tradesman does the work on your job. On bigger jobs I bring a hand for the heavy lifting — I am still the one on site. The price and the scope are agreed in writing before anything starts, so nothing about your job depends on anyone remembering a conversation.

Every job starts with a number in writing — itemised, and it says what it covers. You approve it before I start. Nine jobs have a published starting price, so you can read most of the answer before you message me.
- The guarantee
6 months on the work I do
The work I do carries a 6-month guarantee. If something I fitted or repaired fails inside those six months, I come back and put it right.
- The deposit
30%, the same for everyone
30% to start the job — the same figure for every job on this page, quoted the same way whether you found me today or next month. One price, one deposit, no negotiating.
- The hands
Alex does the work, start to finish
No subcontractors sent in your place and no crew rotating between sites. On a big job Alex may bring a hand, but he is the one on site. Gas work and electrical work that needs a certificate go to someone on the register, and you are told which parts of your job those are before anything starts.
- The trial
Two hours, if you would rather test me first
Book two hours of general repair work — €50/hour, two-hour minimum — and watch how I turn up, how I work, and how I leave the room. Plenty of people start there and hand me the bathroom afterwards.

I am based in Carlow and work within 150 km of it — Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Waterford, Wicklow, Kildare, Laois, Tipperary, Dublin and the counties in between.
Plastering, painting, general repairs, carpentry, flooring, tiling, bathrooms and kitchen fitting. Gas work and electrical work that needs a certificate are not mine; you hear that in the first message and you are not left waiting on an answer.
